![]() ![]() With this i hope that at some point i can install storyline on a blazingly fast Mxxx Apple product and really enjoy my work with Storyline and all my other pro applications. History should be the best indicator of this.Īrticulate is maybe not a leader but a follower? I dont have enough years of history to say either or. Windows 11? Edge? Corp behemoths will continue for a long time using windows, but the forefront of technology will step change change because of the Apple and google of the world. We are clearly not heading into a world of 95% windows on developers devices. Personal opinion, to be totally honest, to stay even remotely relevant in the mobile device future, market presence with ios and ipad OS applications and MacOS applications is simply the only way to go long term. Not via support departments or vendor support channels. It also a fact that support is more common to happen in communities between Mac users. I think it is a strategic mistake not to factor in the community of these users that are often highly engaged and very knowledgeable and very active with high level of quality contributions in their community. With regards to not having a MacOS (M1 and future) version for articulate package. Not as bad as I expected given the complexities involved. Here are details on the limitations of Windows on ARM. We have reached out to Microsoft for comment and clarification on the matter. Although I know that Devlin Peck is planning on doing some testing, so maybe keep an eye on his site for more info. Windows 10 ARM-based PCs with a Microsoft SQ1, Microsoft SQ2, Qualcomm Snapdragon 8cx, or Qualcomm Snapdragon 850 processor Windows 10 Pro or Enterprise, build 19559 or newer Hyper-V enabled (instructions) You can see it doesn’t say anything about Apple silicon. I won't be installing any of this stuff on my M1. I'd also like confirmation from Articulate staff that Storyline will be supported when used with Windows on ARM - which they probably can't do yet given that it's only a technical preview. Storyline is buggy enough as it is at times, so adding a potentially unstable OS into the mix doesn't seem like a good idea. So in my opinion, this isn't a viable solution for production work given the risks involved. It's just a technical preview at this time. Keep in mind that this is still only for Windows on ARM, which isn't available to purchase. I know of at least one person who has tested it and said that Storyline seemed to be working okay (although they haven't tested in thoroughly). Here's an update regarding Parallels latest update ( cross-posted from here):īrett, the demos of Parallels 16.5 do look promising.
